Initial Visit: July 24th, 2015
Description: Simple and Delicious. Think Denny’s, but cheaper and better.
Rounding out a 2 week cross country trip, this was the last unique food place we stopped at. Just so happened to be in a funny town named Butte. I am sure the locals hate the jokes, but it still makes me giggle a bit on the inside.
Anyways, Hanging Five was a nice little restaurant. It wasn’t little as they could easily handle a dinner rush and then some. The service was great. I ordered a basic breakfast of pancakes, eggs and bacon. It was pretty good. When it came time to pay, we all realized there was no sales tax. How awesome is that! I live in Illinois and we seem to have taxes on everything and everywhere.
Butte itself was an interesting town. “Casinos” were everywhere. Every corner hosted some kind of slots and Hanging Five had their gaming area too. Quite the sight to see. Almost felt like a mini Las Vegas!
