Initial Visit: December 30th, 2012
Description: A restaurant AND soda bottling plant.
A little info on Fitz’s. They are a restaurant. They also bottle and sell soda in the Missouri-Illinois region (it may expand further, but this is based on my knowledge). You can experience both at the same time if you visit Fitz’s.
Fitz’s is located on Delmar and it seems to be a pretty popular area. On the way my friends and I went, parking was tight since the area was alive with activity. Once inside, the place is impressive. It offered seating upstairs and on the main floor. They had some arcade machines here and there, but not too many since it was a tight fit on the inside.
If you go to the back wall of the main floor, you can actually watch them bottle the root beer. There are a few photos below in the gallery that showcases this. It was sweet to get a glimpse inside the bottling process.
As for the food, it was alright. Nothing special, but not terrible. It’s been a few years since I’ve been there, so I am sure their menu has changed up a bit. The cool thing was that when they gave us our bill, we got a free unopened soda with it, free of charge.
So while the prices were a bit high and the food was not quite stellar, it should be on anyone’s St. Louis list for the uniqueness of it. Plus the soda is actually really good! I grabbed a variety pack when I left.
