Description: A sweet Chicago candy shop!

If you know anything about Chicago or have seen movies taken place in Chicago, you have probably seen Margie’s in the background. It is quite the sight to behold when you are in Chicago as it is a timepiece from years gone by.

The location I went to ended up being the original one that opened up back over 90 years ago. The inside is just a timepiece as the outside. Stepping in, I felt like I was transported back to another time. Another age. Another culture. Everything seemed old/vintage, not on purpose, but because they just haven’t updated the place… and there is no reason to.

While there, I grabbed a chocolate turtle and it was yummy! They seem to be an ice cream parlor more than anything as it seemed like you could sit down and enjoy your sweets in the confines of the little building.

If you love sweets… if you love vintage buildings/blasts from the past… if you love iconic places… check out Margie’s Candies. It’s worth a visit, even if you just check the place out and not get anything. Plus they have a secondary location, so you have two chances to visit if you are ever in Chicago.
