Initial Visit: July 14th, 2013
Description: Mega stock. Mega deals. Mega gems.
Mega Replay offers quite a bit for a ‘trade in’ store. The Bloomington store offers; video games, cds, dvds, blu-rays, books, music instruments, video game accessories, pop culture items, etc.
Due to the nature of the business, their stock rotates with what gets traded in. So some days you can find some really awesome stuff… maybe even a great deal here and there… and some days you’ll find Wii Fit and that’s it. I have found some good deals on games here and other times, I have found nothing that peaks my interest.
The staff is usually pretty friendly, if not a bit unprofessional at times. The Bloomington store is pretty spacey, which is good since it’s usually full of people. The parking is ample as it is in a Strip Mall area, so huge plus there.
Due to the large nature of what they take in, they offer almost something for everyone. I was surprised to see musical instruments and kitchen counter appliances (juicers, toasters, etc).
Since my first visit here, they have opened a new location in Peoria, IL so I visit that place more. But this post is about my visits to the Bloomington store. Overall, I prefer the Bloomington store over the Peoria one.
They have a small presence in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Michigan under Mega Replay, Disc Replay and Disc Traders. So if you’ve never been and live in the Midwest, there is a small chance you’ll be able to run across one.
Happy Thrifting 🙂
